World Congress on Gestational Trophoblastic Diseases Comes to Canada
Last week, the International Society for the Study of Trophoblastic Diseases (ISSTD) held their World Congress on Gestational Trophoblastic Diseases biennial meeting in Toronto, marking this as the first time the meeting was hosted in Canada! This event brought together both international and domestic experts, including some of our faculty members.
Dr. Ray Osborne (Associate Professor) and his organizing committee hosted the meeting that touched on a number of different topics. The committee included other faculty members such as Dr. Genevieve Bouchard-Fortier (Assistant Professor), who moderated the first session with Dr. Osborne, and Dr. Kate Pulman (Assistant Professor).
The meeting began on the Sunday by reviewing gestational trophoblastic disease with international experts, including two Kenyan doctors that were jointing sponsored by ISSTD and our department.
Overall, attendees were pleased with the organization of the meeting and believed that the science presented was outstanding in quality.
