Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Protocols
The Department has adopted a protocol titled “Intimidation, Harassment, Discrimination, and Other Forms of Unprofessional Behaviour: A Management Guideline for Learners, Faculty Members and Leaders” in May 2020, which can be accessed via our Policies & Guidelines webpage.
Undergraduate Medical Learners Resources
Process: For information on the process for reporting or disclosing an incident of learner mistreatment, please visit the MD Program's Student Mistreatment webpage.
Protocol: To view the protocol developed by the Faculty of Medicine for incidents of discrimination, harassment, mistreatment and other unprofessional behaviour, visit the MD Program's 'What is mistreatment?' webpage.
Form: To report an incident of learner mistreatment, click on the Disclose or Report Mistreatment button on the MD Program's Student Mistreatment webpage.
Postgraduate Medical Learners Resources
Protocol: Postgraduate Medical Education has developed guidelines for addressing instances of intimidation, harassment and unprofessional or disruptive behaviour. UofT ObGyn residents can also find more information and resources via Home Womb.
Form: To report an incident of intimidation or harassment, visit the Postgraduate Medical Education's Learner Mistreatment webpage and click on Disclose or Report Mistreatment. The form may be sent to a site supervisor, program director, PGME administrator overseeing resident wellness, Vice President Education or equivalent at a training site, Associate Dean or PGME.
Physicians Resources
Physicians are encouraged to contact their site’s human resources department to report intimidation, harassment, discrimination and other abusive behaviour. If the perpetrator is another physician, action may also be pursued through the relevant provincial college.
