Lecturer Awarded Peters-Boyd Teaching Award

Photo of award bookletThe Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is proud to announce that Dr. Karthika Devarajan - lecturer with the Department - was recently awarded the Peters-Boyd Teaching Award for Clinical Teaching in Clerkship.

Dr. Devarajan was recognized for her continued support of trainees in clerkship while working at North York General Hospital in the Maternal, Newborn and Paediatric Care Program. In May, the Peters-Boyd Academy presented Dr. Devarajan with the teaching honour, which is awarded to teaching faculty from any of the clinical rotations who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to clinical clerkship teaching. Teaching staff are nominated by their students.

"I'm very honoured by this award," said Dr. Devarajan. "I really love what I do and it's always very rewarding to be able to share that with my students."

Dr. Devarajan completed medical school at Dalhousie University and residency at the University of Toronto. She has been on staff at North York General Hospital since 2014.
