Faculty honoured at second annual Awards and Promotions Celebration
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology recently held our second annual Awards and Promotions Celebration, honouring our faculty members for their professional achievements over the past year.
Held for a second time at the Royal Conservatory of Music, the event celebrated the Department’s end-of-year award winners in teaching, education, quality improvement, and research for the 2022-23 academic year. In addition, it was an opportunity to celebrate the recent senior promotions in our Department.
The event also provided an opportunity for the community to celebrate Dr. John Kingdom’s two successful terms as Chair.
“This room is studded with so many of you doing great things,” Kingdom said. “We have boldly come together with greater unity, and though the power of our collective efforts — on display tonight with all award winners —we truly deserve the external recognition we now have as the world’s No. 2 department, working in a top-ranked public-funded medical school worldwide.
“And finally, we now enter a new decade with our much-loved new Chair, Kellie Murphy. I will give her all the support I can, and delight in the continued success that you will all achieve with her support and our amazing administrative team.”
