Dr. Amanda Selk completed her BSc at the University of Toronto and her MD at the University of Western Ontario before returning to Toronto for her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She went on to complete an MSc in Health Research Methodology at McMaster University, a Masters in Health Administration at the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa, and additional postgraduate training in vulvar dermatology.

Her clinical and research interests include colposcopy, vulvar disorders, and obstetrics. She is the Clinical Lead for Colposcopy at Women’s College Hospital, where she also created and coordinates the Vulvar Gynecology–Dermatology Clinic. She directs the Vulvovaginal Health Fellowship program.

Dr. Selk is a Past President of both the North American Chapter of the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease (ISSVD) and the Society of Canadian Colposcopists. She currently serves on the Board of the ISSVD and the International Federation for Cervical Pathology and Colposcopy (IFCPC), and she is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Lower Genital Tract Disease.

She was named one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network (WXN). Beyond her academic and clinical work, Dr. Selk is the host of the medical podcast The Vulva Diaries and is active in public education through social media as @drselkdownthere(Instagram) and @DrAmandaSelk (X/Bluesky).
