Dr. Amanda Selk completed her BSc at the University of Toronto and her MD at Western University before returning to Toronto for residency training in obstetrics and gynaecology. She subsequently completed an MSc in Health Research Methodology at McMaster University, a Master of Health Administration at the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa, and advanced postgraduate training in vulvar dermatology.

Dr. Selk's clinical, research, and educational interests include colposcopy, HPV-related disease, vulvar disorders, and obstetrics. She is the Clinical Lead for Colposcopy at Women's College Hospital, where she founded and directs the Vulvar Gynecology–Dermatology Clinic and serves as Director of the Vulvovaginal Health Fellowship.

An internationally recognized educator and researcher in lower genital tract disease, Dr. Selk is a Past President of both the North American Chapter of the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease (ISSVD) and the Society of Canadian Colposcopists. She is President-elect of the ISSVD, serves on the Board of the International Federation for Cervical Pathology and Colposcopy (IFCPC), and is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Lower Genital Tract Disease.

Dr. Selk was named one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women's Executive Network (WXN). She is passionate about advancing women's health through clinical care, research, education, mentorship, and public engagement. She hosts The Vulva Diaries podcast and shares evidence-based women's health information through social media as @drselkdownthere.
