Rotation Objectives
This is a reminder that all rotation objectives are available on the ObGyn website. This includes all PGY1 and PGY2 rotation objectives, which follow the new Competency-By-Design curriculum.
Changes to the Sign-Off of Rotation Plans
At the beginning of each rotation block, Rotation Coordinators are asked to meet with each resident to review the rotation objectives (required for Royal College accreditation). In previous years, the program has tracked this by requiring the Resident and Rotation Supervisor to sign a rotation plan, submitting it to the program office during the first week of the block.
To streamline this process, a new field has been added to each ITER/ITAR where the Rotation Coordinator will be required to confirm whether they have reviewed the rotation objectives with the resident. This will replace submitting the paper-based rotation plan.
Resident Reflection Pilot
New this year, residents will be required to complete a resident reflection within the comments section of their ITER/ITAR. They will need to print/download a copy of their ITER/ITAR, including their reflection, to discuss with the site or rotation coordinator at the beginning of their next ObGyn rotation. This new requirement does not apply to off-service rotations.
The reflection will include three goals for the upcoming rotation, based on the feedback they received. It will be at the discretion of the coordinator, whether the reflection is reviewed and discussed in person or by email.
