In 2019, one of our faculty members was honoured at the annual Faculty Professional Development Day with the Carl Nimrod Educator Award. Assistant Professor Dr. Ally Murji (Mount Sinai Hospital) received his award at the following annual regional meeting of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC) in November.
Each year, the SOGC provides one award for each Canadian university department in honour of Dr. Carl Nimrod, the late chair of obstetrics and gynaecology in Ottawa and a national champion of resident education. The award recognizes excellence, commitment, innovation and leadership demonstrated in teaching knowledge, attitudes and skills to the next generation of practitioners. It also represents exceptional work and dedication to the betterment of education in obstetrics and gynaecology.
This year our educational leaders elected Dr. Murji to receive this award for his service to postgraduate education and continuing medical education in operative gynaecology.
Congratulations Dr. Murji!
