Associate Professor

Evelyn Lambe

Core Obstetrics & Gynaecology

PhD

Headshot of Dr. Lambe
Location
Medical Sciences Building
Research Interests
neurophysiology, genetic disruption of NMDA receptors, developmental changes in cholinergic and serotonergic modulation, stress-sensitive developmental periods
Appointment Status
Cross-Appointed

Evelyn Lambe received her A.B. Hons from Stanford University, M.Sc. from the University of Toronto, and Ph.D. from Yale University, with postdoctoral training at Yale University School of Medicine. At the University of Toronto. she held the Canada Research Chair in Developmental Cortical Physiology (Tier 2, 2006-2018) and ongoing funding from CIHR and NSERC. The Lambe Laboratory investigates neurobiological mechanisms of executive function and mood regulation, including their susceptibility to developmental and genetic disruption. We study neuronal activity and circuit mechanisms, using the tools of whole cell electrophysiological recording, optogenetics, and multiphoton imaging. These techniques let us assess functional receptors and signalling pathways in the healthy brain and determine the cellular mechanisms of disruption in models of developmental brain disorders.
