Dr Whittle is a Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Specialist at Mount Sinai Hospital; Sinai Health System (SHS, Toronto, CA) with an MD from Queens University, OBGYN residency and MFM fellowship training at University of Toronto and holds a PhD in Reproductive Physiology from the University of Toronto. Dr Whittle is the Head of the Division of MFM, Co-head of the Division of Midwifery, Medical Director of the Antenatal High Risk Pregnancy Inpatient Care Unit and the Hospitality Program (giving access to tertiary care for those at risk and residing in remote regions) and the Ambulatory Obstetrics Program. Dr Whittle holds the position of MFM Hospitalist, managing the in-patient high risk obstetrical service for patients with complex fetal, maternal and obstetrical diagnoses. Her clinical focus is fetal diagnosis, perinatal loss and preterm birth and termination of pregnancy across gestation. Her research portfolio spans the spectrum of birth (physiology and clinical care) both at term and preterm including perinatal loss and termination of pregnancy. Dr Whittle took the lead for COVID Care in Pregnancy SHS, in the local GTA-OBS network and ultimately on a provincial and national platform through public and institutional education forums, shared clinical practice guidelines and experience, dedicated COVID patient care and support, collaboration with Ministry of Health, Provincial Council of Maternal and Child Health and various research programs including CanCOV-Preg Network.
