Dr. Jonathan Ausman is a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist and obstetrician-gynecologist dedicated to advancing care for high-risk pregnancies through clinical care and translational research. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Queen’s University, followed by subspecialty fellowship training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Toronto. He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

Dr. Ausman’s clinical practice focuses on the management of complex pregnancies, including placental disorders, fetal growth abnormalities, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, and other maternal medical complications. His research interests center on placental diseases and their molecular origins, with a particular emphasis on understanding mechanisms of placental dysfunction and their impact on maternal and fetal outcomes. Through this work, he aims to improve early diagnosis, risk stratification, and targeted therapies for high-risk pregnancies.

In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr. Ausman is committed to education and mentorship of trainees and collaborative, multidisciplinary care. He works closely with obstetricians, neonatologists, geneticists, and other specialists to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care. His goal is to translate emerging scientific insights into meaningful improvements in pregnancy outcomes for patients and families.
