With the development of our new Strategic Plan, the Department is committed to unifying specialists in many areas across the GTA, with the end goal of improving collaboration and advancing research, education, and quality of patient care.
The first such clinical network - the GTA-OBS Network - was established in October, 2013, under the direction of Dr. Jon Barrett, Director of Women and Babies Research Program and newly-appointed Waks Family Chair in Maternal-Fetal Medicine Research at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
Similar efforts are underway to establish such networks in other subspecialties within the Department.
